I have read it. It misses the whole point by creating a reductionist argument based on the spurious assumption that poverty is a matter of choice.
Far more subtle -- and insidious, for anyone who knows the demographic makeup of NYC -- is the racism that underlies this piece.
But I'd be glad to argue the point with you.
AH, I missed the racism in the piece...I thought it was a logical argument, not the faulty ramblings of an idiot. Thanks for pointing that out for me.
