The Associated Press:
"'The car bomb detonated as the bus passed a U.S. base in Balad, U.S. military spokesman Maj. Neal E. O'Brien said....'Those responsible for suicide attacks are seeking to halt Iraq's progress on the path to democracy,' O'Brien said."
Uh, you really think so? Colin Powell, too, reiterated the obvious, that we're in for some extremely violent days between now and the scheduled Iraqi elections. What noone is talking about is how things got this way, and what the US and the "coalition" is doing about it.

Does that really surprise you?
Remember when videos of that that aged, British engineer came out and everyone was in a state of shock? What did Tony Blair do? Nothing. He sent one of his PR goons to say the usual, "We are behind the family and we feel sorry and blah blah blah..."
It was only when this poor man was brutally murdered that Mr. Blair surfaced to read off a textbook condemnation letter. Typical.
Irregardless, in the face of the South Asian natural disaster, all this hatred in the Middle East seems so childish & I hate to say this, but frivolous @ it's most basic level. In one part of the world, we're pumping millions in order to desperately save people, yet in another part, not so far away, we're pumping billions to kill & destroy.
It's a very confusing time, to say the least.
